After pulling the tape from her mouth, Maybelle rested and sobbed loudly for several minutes. Now, you can throw up.

That’s exactly what she did, until her throat burned and hurt as badly as the rest of her body. Finally, she reached back and worked the tape off the other wrist. Now, she could straighten her legs and sit up. It took but a few minutes to unwind the tape from around her ankles and thighs. As she pulled the tape off, it left small dots of blood all up and down her legs. Her entire body was scraped and scratched and bleeding from rolling and scooting across the rough, rocky ground.
